Lighting Design

Lighting is one of the most critically important elements of design and one that often gets overlooked. This element of a design project tends to be addressed at the end when everyone is worn-out from selecting things and are nearing the top of their budget. Lighting does not get nearly the full attention it deserves and we believe that a great lighting plan creates a well-balanced and functional lighting scheme that enhances the ambiance and functionality of the space. A cohesive plan involves selecting the appropriate light fixtures and placement for task lighting, accent lighting, and overall illumination to create the desired mood and atmosphere in a space. In new-builds or remodels, lighting is one of the first elements discussed since switch and outlet placement is decided upon early on, when the walls are being constructed. Lighting can make or break a design, so it’s important to give this element of a project as much attention (if not more) as furniture and décor.
